My husband and I are feeling very blessed to be safe and well. We are both retired nurses and so tempted to go back in, but because of our high-risk age range and concern about infecting each other we are choosing to help in other ways. Today we handed out food bags and masks to a homeless shelter. Way back in the 80's when I was an ER and ICU nurse, I felt that nurses were never acknowledged enough for they (we) do, including saving so many lives, sometimes just on instinct to take action and call the doctor and initiate treatment. I felt so strongly about this, I designed a line of cards, tote bags and mugs to honor nurses.
